My dear madam
You travel so far
Yet you shan't knock at my door
This act or lack thereof puzzles me
For I have expected your visit for quite some time
Madam please do not stand on ceremony
Politeness burdens you
Weighs you down
Clouds your nimble wit
You stumble under the guise of etiquette
I shall abide by your wishes and seek you out
I desire your company, your banter and your dusky voice
You pretend that I do not
Imagining that I harbor indifference
That dispassion and aloofness govern me
When I come upon you
I shall offer my hand
Raise you into my embrace
Listen to your silly vain mockery
Laugh at the transparent badgering
Pouring from your rouged pursed lips
Silence them with a simple kiss
Ergo I shall take your arm in mine
Squire you about
Shoulder to shoulder
As we trip over our gaiety
Ebullient in our yearning
Finally falling through the threshold of my open door
